Небольшой комментарий автора:
"On my Pikes, I was looking mainly at the Poleaxed Sourcebooks for
the post-Towton period. Richmond's Pikes at Bosworth are shown as
French Mercenaries, so I assumed that Richmond and Oxford would have
outfitted them in their liveries on arrival. For Richard's Pikes, I
just assumed the same thing, as it was simpler to paint them all
with a set pattern than a more generic levy color. Also LALS says
that Richard's Pikes were "retainers" so I figured I would give them
his livery. LALS also has Devereau with Pikes at Bosworth, so I
just gave him a small contingent of Pikes in my army in his livery.
LALS also has Devon with a small Pike unit at Tewkesbury, so I did
the same thing for him.
As far as Crossbows go, I assumed they were all French or Burgundian
mercenaries, but allowed that they would have been outfitted in some
English livery once in England. I have no basis for that, other
than thinking it would not look real good trying to claim the throne
with an army outfitted in Charles the Bold's colors.
What I am really missing are units of Borderers, Shire Levies and
other Levies in general. My army is way to "heavy", and my units
are really too uniform, and should have about 1/2 of the figures
painted in common clothing instead of liveries to represent recently
levied troops. I just chose to stick with common uniforms and lots
of plate out of personal choice." |
